(legacy) getPresentation embed tags

Last Updated 5 years ago

Note that the XML-RPC API is a legacy API and is no longer being developed, we recommend using the REST API instead.

As mentioned in the XML-RPC API getPresentation takes an option called embedtype. This option correspond to the different embed codes available in console.

Here are the various embedtypes in order of preference:

  1. iframe (Recommended)
  2. universal
  3. playertag-rdfa (Deprecated)
  4. playertag (Deprecated)
  5. facebooktags

iframe (Recommended)

An iframe embed code which works on desktop and mobile. Compared to universal embedtype, iframe works well in CMS and WYSIWYG editors.
Only works with Google Analytics if using Onyx player.

universal

A javascript embed code which works on desktop and mobile, with an exception for some cases due to javascript restrictions.
Works with google analytics as long as the required tracking code is set in <head> of page, you can read more about setting up Google Analytics in this article.

playertag-rdfa (Deprecated)

playertag (Deprecated)

facebooktags

Open graph <meta> tags to include in the <head> tag of the HTML. These tags in combination with publishing the player on the page will make Facebook sharing of the page also share the video. The sharing of the video to the Facebook wall is limited to the devices and platforms that Facebook support.
